DIGITAL MARKETING: “advertising through social media is cheaper and has a better response”

After 13 years of working as a graphic designer for the oldest Hispanic magazine in San Francisco, we realized that written advertising is already a thing of the past. Large newspapers have been reduced to a few pages because Internet’s advertising ate it. As an advertising agency we have to evolve and in that change we discover that advertising through social media is cheaper and has a better response, but it is still complicated when thinking and analyzing what will be the strategy to follow for a campaign could be effective. Remember, there are already more than 4 million Latino businesses in the country. In 2020, we will likely witness a notable increase in this figure since the growth rate of small Hispanic companies is higher than that of other ethnic groups. Hispanic businesses is the market that my business is focused on.

As a digital marketer, I live the Hispanic culture everyday and I am also part of the same U.S. Hispanic market that business owner are trying to reach, because the internet is a primary vehicle for everything Hispanics do, from cultural connectivity to entertainment to online purchasing and according to the latest digital marketing surveys Social media is the most convenient means of connecting with one’s personal and extended communities, as well as one of the largest resources of Hispanic-relevant and Hispanic-created content. As a result, U.S. Hispanics spend more time on social-networking sites compared to other ethnic groups.
